Terms of sale and licence

These terms are between you and Niraj Shaikh, trading as Wildlife Engine, Nashik, Maharashtra, India ("we"). By downloading, buying or using Wildlife Engine you agree to them. Contact: [email protected].

1. Buying

Our online orders are processed by our payment partner, which is the merchant of record and reseller for all orders. They handle payment, invoices, tax and billing questions, and their buyer terms also apply to your purchase. Prices depend on the country of your billing address and are confirmed at checkout before you pay; tax is added where required.

2. Free trial

You can use every feature free on up to 500 newly analysed photos, for 10 days from the first start, whichever ends first. After the trial, a licence is needed to cull and name new photos. Everything you made during the trial stays yours. The same trial applies to the Android app.

3. Your licence

4. Your photos

Your photos and everything made from them are yours. We claim no rights in them. Wildlife Engine runs on your device; see the privacy policy.

5. Refunds

You can try every feature free before buying, so purchases are final once your licence key is sent. We refund if Wildlife Engine doesn't work on your computer and we can't fix it (ask within 14 days), if you were charged by mistake, or where the law gives you a right to cancel. See the refund policy.

6. Species names and ratings

Star ratings, Selects and Rejects, categories and species names are made automatically, by AI on your device and, if you choose, by an online AI. They are suggestions: they are often right, but no AI is 100% correct, and some photos will be rated or named wrongly. This is expected and is not a fault in the product, so it is not a reason for a refund. Please check names and ratings before you publish, sell or use them for scientific records; you can change any of them in the app. Keep a backup of your photos; Wildlife Engine never deletes photos for you, but any software that moves files should be used with backups.

7. Warranty and liability

Wildlife Engine is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that it will be error-free, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your licence in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law where you live.

8. Changes and ending

We may update these terms for future purchases and will post the new version here. If you break these terms, your licence may end. These terms are governed by the laws of India, without affecting consumer protections in your own country.
